What is a Goldendoodle?
A Goldendoodle is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. Goldendoodles are known for their pleasant family-friendly demeanor and high intelligence. They are also hypo-allergenic, making them wonderful pets for families with fur/dander sensitivities.*
What do the labels mean?
Goldendoodles are labeled to identify who their parents were and what generation they are. (This is helpful in identifying the type of fur your puppy will likely have.)
F1 – F1 Goldendoodles are the result of breeding a Golden Retriever with a Poodle. They are first-generation doodles.
F1b – These are Goldendoodles produced between an F1 Goldendoodle and a Poodle. These puppies are the most likely to have the curliest fur and have a higher success rate as a hypo-allergenic dog.
F2 – These Goldendoodles have two first-generation (F1) Goldendoodle parents. Their fur is likely to vary from wavy to curly, similar to an F1 puppy.
F2b - F2b Goldendoodles are created by breeding an F1 Goldendoodle with an F1b Goldendoodle. These puppies are approximately 65% Poodle and 35% Golden Retriever. They have a very high hypoallergenic instance.
F3 - When two F1b (or second generation) Goldendoodles are bred, we are able to produce F3 puppies, who are 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever, like their parents.

What is an English “Teddy Bear” Goldendoodle?
An English Teddy Bear Goldendoodle has one parent who is an English Cream Golden Retriever. English Cream Golden Retrievers are known for their snow-white fur, blocky heads and sweet personalities. When you adopt an English Teddy Bear Goldendoodle you are adopting a puppy pre-disposed to giving heaps of love and looking equally adorable in face and stature.
*Please note that we cannot guarantee that any puppy will be fully hypo-allergenic. Puppies with curlier fur produce lower shedding and will have better results being allergen-friendly. For this reason we have chosen at this time to breed F1b puppies, which tend to have curlier fur and higher success with allergen issues.

Ponderosa FAQs
Q. When will your next litter arrive?
A. Take a look at our "Available Litters" and "Upcoming Litters" pages! We continually update our pages with planned litters and expected arrival dates. If puppies are available, we do our best to update how many are free for adoption at that time.
Q. How big do your puppies get?
A. Our puppies typically range between 40-60 pounds, with the average being 45-55 pounds. We are currently hoping to find a new stud for Evi, which will allow us to make puppies available closer to the 35-45 pound range.
Q. When do we get to choose our puppy and when will they go home?
A. Puppies are chosen at 6-7 weeks of age, according to when deposits have been placed (first deposits receive first pick, and so on). Puppies go home between 8-9 weeks of age. We do not allow them to go home prior to this due to necessary socialization.
Q. How much is a puppy?
A. The adoption fee for all of our puppies is $1800. A $400 deposit is required to reserve a puppy from any given litter. The deposit is applied toward the full price of the puppy. When puppies are picked up to go home the balance of $1400 will be due.
Q. How to we get on a waiting list for a puppy?
A. Email or call us any time to let us know that you would like to be placed on a waiting list for a puppy! We will be happy to place you on a list to be notified when we expect our upcoming litters. The waiting list will keep you informed when one of our mamas become pregnant, and also when she delivers her puppies. It does not guarantee a puppy from a litter, however you will receive these basic announcements and can find out what genders are possibly available for adoption.
Q. What is a Confirmation list and how do we complete a Deposit?
A. The Confirmation Deposit process is fairly simple. If at any time you decided that you would like to be placed on a Confirmation list for one of our upcoming litters, you can complete the application on our website (there is a specific link for it under our "Adopt a Puppy" page). Once approved, we will let you know and at that time you may complete the $400 deposit.
The deposit will reserve a puppy for you from your specified litter and is applied toward the full fee of the puppy. If needed, the deposit is transferable to a future litter, though not refundable (if timing/family issues arise and you would like to do so). Families are allowed to "pick" their puppies at six weeks in order of the time when their deposit is placed. Therefore, if you are the first person to place a deposit for a litter, you may have first pick (following our pick, if applicable), and so on. We do our best to match gender preferences, however due to biology, we cannot absolutely guarantee a specific gender. In addition, if a litter is smaller or larger than expected, we can either accept additional families or may have to ask families to wait for our next litter, who are later on our Confirmation list.
When a confirmation is completed we will send you an update when the mama become pregnant, with information on the expected due date and such. We will also notify you when the puppies are born, and then send you minimum-weekly emails containing helpful information (training, feeding, vaccinations, updates, and so on) and LOTS of adorable photos of the puppies! You will be able to choose your puppy at an agreed-upon time after the puppies turn 6 weeks. Puppies typically go home between 8-9 weeks.
Q. What dog food do you recommend?
A. We are commonly asked this question, and highly recommend Life's Abundance dog food regimen for our puppies. In order to receive the benefits of our health guarantee, we require families to keep their puppies/dogs on a high-quality dog food. Just like us, dogs can only do as well as the food they eat. Feeding your puppy a high-quality dog food will allow them to be happier, live longer, be healthier, and experience lower instances of hip dysplasia and other common dog ailments. Life's Abundance is commonly used among breeders and allows families to feed their sweet dog a quality food at a lower price (and delivered to your door!). You can ask us more about this or take a look at their pet foods HERE.
