our story.
Hello! We are the Popes, the family of Ponderosa Goldendoodles. It is our delight to welcome you to our family – Chris and Nicole, Noah, Alina, Asher, and Titus. Chris is passionate about students and teaching as a Special Education teacher in our local school system and loves serving in our church. Nicole is a stay-at-home mama, home schools our busy kiddos, and loves on and leads our growing puppy family. Our kiddos are all play and curiosity and consider Daisy their true fourth sibling. As Alina said one week on a date with Nicole, “Oh, we forgot Daisy! We need her to have all of the girls for our Girls’ Date! Can we go back and bring her with us?!”
Growing up, I (Nicole) had the privilege of raising Golden Retrievers through three generations of my family’s AKC Goldens here in Washington State. It offered an incredible and fun life experience – one which I am elated to offer to my own children. Chris’ family is full of generations of passionate dog-lovers and he was raised with many dogs of various breeds on a farm in South-Central Virginia.
Naturally, the Christmas after our wedding I gave Chris a puppy; a sweet Beagle-mix named Chevy (after the old beloved truck Chris’ grandpa drove around). Unfortunately, after our first baby, Noah, was born we combated some serious eczema issues and eventually realized that he had sensitivities to pet fur. Chevy happily moved to the farm with Chris’ parents, yet we still wished for our children to grow up with a dog in their lives, as we had the opportunity to do.

Early in our marriage, I raved to Chris about Goldendoodles – their adorable faces and curly fur! Honestly, at that time that was just about all I knew of them as a breed: They were adorable! After issues with Noah’s eczema and researching hypo-allergenic dogs, it became clear that they were the breed for us. We loved the concept of an intelligent family-friendly pup joining our family. We also loved that our children – and our visiting family and friends - would be free of reactions from typical dog fur as we welcomed them in our home. After further research, we settled on English Teddy Bear Goldendoodles, a sub-breed known for their gentle demeanor and sweet disposition and, again, adorable faces.
Daisy exceeded our expectations. She is a wonderful addition to our family. She has patiently laid as our babies have crawled all over her and loves to play with the family. She is extremely intelligent and loves to please. Since adopting Daisy into our family, we have not had recurring issues with eczema in our children, which has been an absolute blessing! In addition, our relatives with pet allergies have been able to pet and play with her without negative reactions. What a gift!
We are delighted to share this lovely breed with your family! We have no doubt that you will find equal pleasure in our sweet Ponderosa Goldendoodles as they cuddle their way into your hearts and homes.
